About

David is an interior designer with experience in project types ranging from hospitality and convention centers to educational institutions and workplaces.

With a fine arts background, David brings a critical eye and devotion to the design process to his practice. David’s early experience working in hospitality design informs his commitment to the client and user experience – layering finishes, furniture, and lighting to anticipate the users’ needs rather than responding to them. David sees Interior Design and Architecture as essential to each other, eagerly collaborating with architects to learn how larger design context can inform interiors and vice-versa.

Before joining EHDD in 2016, David earned his B.F.A. in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art & Design, ranked the No. 1 Interior Design program in the nation by DesignIntelligence, where he received the SCAD Artistic Honors Scholarship for artistic excellence. David later worked at tvsdesign in Atlanta advancing modern office campus interiors and collaborating on massive, multicultural convention and theater complexes in India.

David received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013. Evident in David's work completed while attending SCAD is his exploration of visual communication, including architectural graphics and branding identity, and its relationship with interiors.

David's capstone thesis project, found here, proposes a design for a high school befitting 21st Century values and realities. High Life High's design intends to re-imagine the high school to empower modern students and encourage an open and inspiring learning environment.

In 2013, David was selected to lend his talents to an exciting collaboration between SCAD and Mohawk Group, which yielded a class project that was later constructed as Mohawk's real-life design studio in Dalton, Georgia called LightLab.

David currently resides in San Francisco, California. When not practicing interior design, David enjoys cooking, exploring the outdoors, and visiting friends and family in his hometown of New Orleans and adopted hometown of Atlanta.
